Christiana von Hippel, Sc.D., M.P.H., steps into her role as Research Director of The Better Lab, equipped with a robust background in women’s sexual and reproductive health, digital health, human centered design, and user-led innovation. Her academic journey includes a Doctorate of Science from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with a focus on Social Epidemiology and Health Communication, a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Maternal and Child Health with a focus on digital health at UC Berkeley School of Public Health, and a Master of Public Health from Indiana University Bloomington's School of Public Health, with concentrations in Sexual Health Promotion and Intervention Design. Christiana's professional path has been marked by her adept ability to merge research with practical solutions designed for and with their end-users, having contributed significantly as a Senior User Experience Researcher at Meta, and as a Research Scientist at For Goodness Sake LLC, where she led research for the development of OMGYES.com.
Dr. von Hippel’s work has been recognized for its depth and scope, particularly in the domains of health communication, the social determinants of health, and her pioneering studies in behavioral innovation, female sexual pleasure, maternal and child health innovations, and breast cancer survivorship.
