Bella Shah, MD, EDAC received a bachelor's degree in Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive science and her Medical Degree from the University of Michigan (UM). She completed her Emergency Medicine training at UM with a focus on Design in Medicine, Critical Care in the Emergency Department (ED), and Wilderness/Austere Environment Medicine.
Bella’s design roots started in graphic and visual design and expanded to encompass the design process over the last 8 years through direct design mentorship, Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC), LEAN certification, and multiple projects including COVID-19 airway management redesign, management of anaphylactic shock in the austere environment, and the development of crisis communication tools.She loves her fast-paced clinical work and clinical teaching. She is a Michigander at heart, but has lived in Hong Kong, Austria, and New York City. She is currently based in the Bay Area where she lives with her husband. She is an energetic being who enjoys travel and exploring other cultures. She loves to laugh, sketch, make pizzas, and all things outdoors.
